About the course
International IT Summer School "Go ICT East: Software Security and CUDA Technology" is an innovative educational program.
The participants of the Summer School will have a unique opportunity to go East throughout Russia, on their way to receiving professional IT knowledge and skills, getting to know Russian culture and traditions, and establishing professional contacts.
The International IT Summer School: "Software Security and CUDA Technology" provides students with an excellent opportunity to enhance their knowledge in the most demanding areas of information technologies, while exploring different parts of Russia, meeting new people, and expanding their network internationally.
IT Summer School has a strong professional emphasis, and offers complex program, aimed at promoting further internationalization of university studies. The program consists of several IT courses that are delivered by renowned specialists in the form of interactive lectures, tutorials, and student sessions of short talks and presentations.
The participants may choose courses from the following list of courses individually designed for the International IT Summer School:

Web Programming
At the end of the course, you will learn how to develop web applications in JavaScript - the most popular web programming language at the moment

Programming for Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)
The course will show the difference between GPU and CPU and teach how: to program GPU for mathematical computations.
In the course, we cover the following topics: architecture of GPU; approaches to program GPU (libraries, compiler directives, direct programming with CUDA); profiling and optimizing an application on GPU. At the end of the course, students will be able to use GPU optimized libraries, OpenACC directives and program GPU directly with CUDA.

Software Security and Data Safety
The main topics of the course are Basic Practices for Secure Development of Applications, Secure Coding Techniques, Security Product Testing, and Writing Secure Code Tools.

Gamification
Learn how to motivate your users and integrate game mechanics into a real system. Take something tedious and add some game! The main topics of the course are: Game elements and user motivation, what is Gamification and what is not,; ways to incorporate game elements into your apps.
Application requirements
  • Undergraduates and postgraduates students from any institutions worldwide
  • Students must have a background in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • English level B+
final assessment
In the end of the course students will have a take-home examination:
an argumentative essay with a maximum length of 5-6 pages

DORMITORY FEE
New dormitories are located within 3 minute walk from the University. Students live in block-type dormitories, a block is composed of one or two rooms, plus a bathroom equipped with a shower and a toilet. Single or double room accommodation is available. A furnished kitchen and a leisure room are located on each floor.

DAAD supports five scholarships to German students in the Joint Pskov-Novosibirsk Summer School 12 August – 01 September 2019.
